Why use the King James Version?
Video presentation: (Why King James?)
1. In the bible God promises many times that his words will be preserved.
Mark 13:31
“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” Mark 13:31 KJV
Isaiah 40:8
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” Isaiah 40:8 KJV
1 Peter 1:24
“But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” 1 Peter 1:25 KJV
2. The first thing that the devil did in the garden was question what God said, then imply that God is a liar.
Genesis 3:1-5
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
3. When a footnote reads: “some manuscripts say differently”, what is the implication?
Answer
The implication is they are not sure what God said, which also is another way of calling God a liar.
Because it is accusing God of not keeping his promise to preserve his words.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5 KJV
